The BelBrand Association arranged in London the Belarusian art exhibition and presented the Clue, the Eurasian analects

From 1 to 3 October 2018 the Belbrand Association along with the Art Chaos showroom art gallery and the Eurasian Creative Guild (London) arranged the exhibition named as “Belarusian art: Living and Reverie”.

The show ran at the 5th Base Gallery, which is in the 23rd Heneage Street in London.

An exhibition of Belarusian art is a quite infrequent occurrence for London – the city of the standing reputation as the capital of the gallery world. Well-versed in works of Kazimir Malevich, Marc Chagall, and Lev Bakst an experienced audience of the capital of Great Britain has not yet familiar with fine art of the modern period of Belarusian culture.

Meanwhile, resting upon the roots of national culture, on conventions of the soviet period and absorbing new world tendencies, Belarusian schools of painters and sculptors portray the country, own life, and dreams in their own unique way applying herewith the well-recognized and distinctive author’s synthesis of surrealism and realism.

A distinguishing feature of the exhibition became presentation of works of well-known masters along with the new generation of painters and sculptors. New authors: Mariya Kosheleva, Anastasiya Shilyagina, Alesya Issa, Mariya Larionova, Pavel Grebennikov, Roman Sakovich, Varvara Vyborova, Olga Grouss, Alexander Yushkevich. All of them are the prize-winners of the BelBrand Art Prize, which provides them an opportunity to enjoy the support rendered by the Association and participate in the international open air, master classes, as well as to popularize their works by means of exhibitions.

Works of masters: Yegor Batalyonok, Nikolay Buschik, Alexander Demidov, Vasiliy Kostyuchenko, Ivan Semiletov, Anna Silivonchik, Alexander Shibnev, Natalya Ivanova were presented by the Art Chaos showroom art gallery in which the great attention is paid to promotion of Belarusian art.

Whole three days were filled with flamboyant events of Belarusian ethnic flavor: inauguration and solemn closing, Belarusian Culture Day, tasting of Belarusian sweeties, performances given by Belarusian artists – Alexander Muzykantov and Darya Khmelnitskaya who are the prize-winners of international and republican vocal and instrumental competitions, presentation of fineries decorated with ethic symbols presented by a gifted Belarusian designer – Anastasiya Falkovich.

Within the scope of the exhibition took place a presentation of an art critic Anna Bizhik on the issue: “Conventions and Innovations in Belarusian Art” and “Sometimes East meets West”, a presentation of a Belarusian painter – Alexander Perlin who works in China currently.

Moreover, a team delegated by the BelBrand Association took part in established by the Eurasian Creative Guild the 2nd Literary Week held in London in which was presented published not long ago in London a collection of poetry and prose – the Clue analects.

On 5 October 2018 took place a meeting with Sergei Aleinik, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The BelBrand Association expresses gratitude to the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus for the assistance rendered in arrangement of the exhibition and for the hospitable reception in the Embassy.
