On behalf of the Government, the greeting to the Conference was conveyed by Vladimir Semashko, the First Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus. In particular, it read: "In the conditions of the constantly changing external economic situation, coupled with the creation of the Customs Union, the problem of brand protection is of particular relevance. Today, it is not enough to create a brand and actively position it in the market of goods and services – it is same important to protect oneself from possible risks and threats from unfair competitors, and to maintain the images of the company and the country in the international market. This will undoubtedly strengthen our positions and will contribute to the implementation of the state programme of defence and protection of intellectual property and development of integration processes within the Common Economic Space."
